Adapted Novel Studies

This class will be an engaging and interactive novel studies class designed to allow students to access stories at their interest level by adapting the traditional novel studies approach to include a strong emphasis on read-aloud sessions, development of vocabulary and background knowledge, and activities and materials adapted to each student’s abilities. An emphasis on novels featuring characters living with neurodiversity and special needs will allow students to connect with characters whose experiences and challenges may resonate and reflect their own lives.
